Come to think of it, I noticed that whenever I write in my diary, it's almost always about the weekends—but honestly, can you blame me when there's nothing to write about on weekdays? I feel like my days are practically copy-and-paste at this point. Yet here on note, there are plenty of incredible people who post daily diaries and manage to make every single one entertaining. In this culture where people usually just laugh at funny things someone else dug up online, surprisingly few can actually find amusement in their immediate surroundings. But if you pay attention, everyday life is surprisingly full of funny things—like a stain on the wall that looks weird, a hoodie hanging out to dry that looks like it's prostrating on the floor, a notice taped up in a public restroom, or a hairdresser's oddly thick arm hair. When you're always rushing through life, you become blind to it, but the humor of daily life is lying all over the place. Isn't being able to notice it kind of the secret to "happiness"? At least, that's what I think. Sure, there's the kind of happiness you have to work hard to grasp, but if that's the only kind you count, you'll just burn yourself out. That's why reading everyone's diaries makes me swoon with admiration, thinking, "Wow, I can't believe they noticed that—their perspective is amazing." I know I'm just reading them without asking, and yeah, an older guy like me might be smirking as he reads diaries written by young women, but hey, it's completely legal. Officer, I swear, this is 100% legal. Anyway, I love reading posts that capture those everyday quirks and discoveries, and it makes me want to write about them myself. Also, if I had to name one more secret to happiness, I think it's about how well you can connect with interesting people who share that same kind of sensibility.
